Proudly sponsored by GT Radial Tyres, Drift.com.my Defying Grip Challenge II was a huge success. 36 drifters from Ipoh, Johor Bharu, Klang Valley and Singapore had participated in this event.

The drifters enjoyed their practice runs in the morning on the technical course. Warm hotdogs for lunch was then provided by A&W. Drifters then battle it out in the afternoon to secure a slot in the final 16 during the qualifying round. Tengku Djan of R3 was invited to be judge along side with veteran judge Terence Lim from Drift.com.my.

The rain came during the top 16. However, the short shower didn’t stop the spectators from enjoying the excitement of drifting. Drifters showed maximum angle while maintaining inches away from their competitors during the Tsuiso battle. The finals came down to Tan Tat Wei drifting his Toyota old-school Toyota TE71 and Ariff in his Nissan Laurel C33. Finally, Tat Wei won by the smallest of margin in the sudden death round, with Ariff taking the 2nd place, Lim Kim Wan from JB Drift Club taking the 3rd, and Lim Joe Han taking the 4th place respectively.

There were other prices given out. Zero Lim with his bright red C33 Laurel got the smokiest drift. Tee with a striking pink 180sx got the coolest ride and Lon from Singapore with his S14 got the biggest spin award.
